Register now for my forthcoming workshop in Douglas, Cork! In this workshop, we will focus on how to use mindfulness to begin reducing the negative behaviours associated with Emotional Eating, Binge Eating and Bulimia.
Bingeing Mindless Eating Eating for ‘self-soothing’ Restricting food intake
Yo-yo dieting Night Eating Compulsive Eating Purging
All the above are destructive habits that are nonetheless very difficult to tackle with willpower alone. There are scientific reasons for this, associated with brain function and how ‘habits’ are formed, and broken. A habit can be just as difficult as an addiction to change or eliminate, so understanding exactly how habits are formed, and more importantly how they are changed, will be a key part of the day.
When you are able to apply mindfulness in the moment when challenging yourself to behave differently, or trying to break an automatic pattern of behaviour, you WILL see your behaviours reduce and/or change.
Throughout the day we will move between practising mindfulness meditations, exploring the more common, negative habits associated with food and eating, and engage in various exercises designed to give a new insight into WHY you eat for reasons other than hunger. With awareness, you create a choice, and with a choice, you CAN learn to react differently to the normal triggers and stressors that cause you to eat for emotional reasons.
Cost of Workshop: €65, a €25 deposit secures your place, balance payable on the day.
Date: Sunday 17 April 2016
Location: Douglas Yoga Rooms, Holbar House, Douglas East Village, Cork.
Time: 10.30am – 4.30pm
Attendance: Strictly limited to 18 participants.
